Hello lovely scavengers and dragons of Pyrrhia!

I am Orion Everglade and I would like to invite you on a trip through the wonderful World of Jade Mountain! We will be interviewing people from all over the site to get to know them and their jobs better. If you're interested, keep their words in mind, you never know when you'll be given the chance to take a position like they did! For our first interview blog we have none other thant...drumroll please...Sable Carlin our amazing Head of Academy!

In your own words, what does it mean to be a Head of Academy?

It means that I oversee all of the preceptors and classes that happen at Jade Mountain Academy. I go through all of the lessons and exams, and work closely with all of the Preceptors to make sure that everything is running smoothly for the students and Preceptors alike!

Which parts of your job do you enjoy most and least?

The most is easy! I love working alongside my wonderful team of Preceptors and getting to know both staff and students. The least? That’s a tough one, I would have to say when I have to send warnings to people. I don’t like upsetting people but sometimes it’s a necessary part of the job.

What's the hardest part of the job?

The hardest part is most definitely losing staff members, for any reason. They were chosen for their job for a reason so replacing them is always hard. The absolute hardest is when there is multiple classes without a preceptor so sometimes my workload will triple.

What are some pros and cons of your job?

Pros: working with Garrett and the rest of the staff, reading so many wonderful lessons every week, interacting with people, the chaos, and seeing users grow in their writing.
Cons: working with Garrett, being understaffed occasionally, last minute lesson coverage, and site glitches! Especially the glitches that always seem to happen with exam writing!
(I also really do love Garrett but it’s so fun to annoy him).

If you could do any other job on site, what would you choose?

I’m a sucker for Winglet Leader, so more than likely I would choose that… or the Overseer but that would mean Garrett is no longer around and that would be completely unacceptable so Overseer is out. So for the sake of Gary still being around I would pick being a Winglet Leader XD

If your job could have any other color which one would you choose?

Oh this one is hard because I really love my blue. But I would probably have to say a purpley-pink. No real reason other than I think it would look really cute!
