SoMe History with Roman
Edition 8
Hello, Academians!
It’s Roman here, bringing to you another little bundle of knowledge on Pyrrhia and Pantala’s history. Today, we’ll be learning about the War of SandWing Succession, also known as The Great War.
The War of SandWings Succession was a war between three SandWing princesses over rulership over the SandWings, starting in 4,992 AS.
Queen Oasis of the SandWings was killed by scavengers, instead of in a fight for the throne, so her three daughters were in a disagreement over who would become the next Queen. They each gathered allies to help them win their fight: Blister allied with the SeaWings and MudWings, Burn with SkyWings and Blaze with the IceWings, along with the majority of SandWings on her side. After the assassination of Commander Tempest, the MudWings are threatened into an alliance with Burn instead.
Morrowseer and Battlewinner create the Dragonet Prophecy, for the NightWings to use for their own good. Their tribe forms a secret alliance with Blister, who is hoping to use the prophecy to her advantage too.
On the false brightest night, Sunny, the SandWing of the prophecy has the princesses and most of the tribes meet up at Burn's stronghold to decide peacefully who would ascend the throne. This meeting doesn’t go as planned, as Blister kills Burn, and is herself later killed by the Eye of Onyx, which Sunny uses to choose the next queen. The war is officially ended after the queens sign a peace treaty, and accept Thorn, who the Eye had picked, as the new SandWings queen.
