We are going to make shortbread cookies!
Shortbread cookies are delicious and easy to make with just a few ingredients. Here are some steps to follow, if you have any questions, please letter me (Shirley Wang):
- Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
- Add all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt and mix well until a smooth dough forms.
- Roll out the dough between two sheets of parchment paper to about 1/4 inch thick and cut out shapes with cookie cutters or a knife.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 325°F for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Enjoy your shortbread cookies plain or decorate them with melted chocolate, icing, jam, or sprinkles.
I hope this helps you make some tasty shortbread cookies. If you need more details or tips, you can letter me as well (Shirley Wang). Happy baking!
