Who is Fatespeaker from WoF??
Greetings, Dragons of Pyrrhia & Pantala!
Now, I'm sure most of you will have heard before of the dragonets of destiny and if not, that's ok! However, I have a feeling that quite a few may have forgotten about the group known as the false dragonets of destiny. Perhaps not one though, after all she does go on to have a more major role in WoF. This dragon is of course Fatespeaker!
Personally, I like many characters from WoF, Fatespeaker is certainly no exception! I find her optimistic and sympathetic personality quite refreshing compared to some of the more hot headed or pessimistic characters in the series, such as Tsunami or Glory (who are both awesome characters as well though!)
Also, despite her somewhat dropping off in importance, she is still a pretty popular character, meaning theres tonnes of awesome fanart and the such like of her!
Fatespeaker's role in WoF
Book 2 (The Lost Heir)
- In book two, Fatespeaker, much like the other False Dragonets is actually indirectly mentioned by Nautilus when he is talking to Blister
- This was a really neat detail I picked up on during my latest read of the books!
Book 3 (The Hidden Kingdom)
- Book three gives us our actual introduction of Fatespeaker, how exciting!
- We see her make multiple 'predictions' and how other characters react to her.
- Her peers and mentors view her as annoying and a liar, so she stops sharing her visions with them.
- Also, in the epilogue, Fatespeaker meets Starflight, a character whio is very important to her character, development and arc.
Book 4 (The Dark Secret)
- In book four, Fatespeaker ascended from a prologue and epilogue only, side character to a main character whilst Starflight is at the Nightwing Island.
- Both Starflight and Fatespeaker are shocked when they each introduce themselves as the nightwing dragonet of destiny.
- This leads them to discover the truth about there being two sets of dragonets.
- The duo go on many adventures across the island including finding a dreamvisitor, meeting with Queen Battlewinner and saving the captured rainwings.
Book 5 (The Brightest Night)
- At the beginning of the final book of arc one of WoF, Fatespeaker accompanied Clay, Tsunami and Starflight through the tunnel to the Rainforest.
- When most of the DoDs went to leave the Rainforest, Fatespeaker didn't go with them, instead stating behind to look after Starflight.
- On the final night of the War Sandwing war of Succession, Fatespeaker went with the DoDs and when the dragon bite viper got loose, she along with Sunny, attempted to help Starflight out of the way.
Arc 2 (Books 6-10)
- Fatespeaker became one of the first members of staff at our very own Jade Mountain Academy!
As you can see, despite not being super important after the first arc of WoF, Fatespeaker is still a pretty cool character in my opinion!
What about you?
Ok, so now you know a bit more about who Fatespeaker is and why I think she's awesome, I want to hear what you think! Are you on the side of Fatespeaker in WoF forever? Or do you think she's a bit boring?
Either way is fine! After all if I had to pick a character with a split divide amongst the fans of WoF, Fatespeaker would be up there.
Hope everyone's day is going well!
Winged Wishes,
Isabella Laurier
