The Lore, Facts, and History of Pantala
Greetings, Dragons of Pyrrhia & Pantala.
Today we will be discussing one of the continents of the WoF universe, and the myths and fun facts of it. So hang on tight as we go through a full overview of this awesome continent!
General Overview of Pantala
Pantala was first introduced in book 11, The Lost Continent. However it was foreshadowed in the epilogue of book 10, Darkness of Dragons, by Hope (formerly Foeslayer). With this was also three more tribes native to Pantala- LeafWings, SilkWings and HiveWings. Right off the bat, there’s is a lot of differences and similarities to Pyrrhia. Let’s first take a look at the three different tribes that live on Pantala.
- SilkWings ~ SilkWings come in a variety of colors all except for black. From hatching, SilkWings have an antennae to detect vibrations + threats. Once they come of age they go into metamorphosis and come out with wings and developed silk.
- LeafWings ~ LeafWings live on the eastern area of Pantala, partially in the Poison Jungle for those who chose to, but others live on central Pantala. Regardless, these dragons are green with brown and/or gold flecks all over. They have large leaf shaped wings and some have leadspeak- the ability to communicate with and grow plants to a very small extent.
- HiveWings ~ Pretty much any colour such as red, orange, yellow, or tan, but they all have at least one black scale from their common ancestor, Clearsight. The can have a variety of special abilities including poison claws/fangs/stinger on tail, or able to release a boiling acid from a gland that emits an awful smell.
Current Geography of Pantala
Over the past few hundred years, the geography of Pantala has changed a lot. Before the rule of Queen Wasp, Pantala was covered in luscious forests. Then, Wasp took over and ordered all trees to be cut down, therefore making most of pantala (excluding the Poison Jungle) a barren savannah.
- Several of the Hives were burned down by the PoisonWings (LeafWings led by Belladonna in the Poison Jungle) as an act of rebellion. These Hives were not repaired and are currently in ruins. The rest of the Hives are also not in use, but are instead used as historical sites to remember the past.
- Since the end of Wasp’s reign, new trees were planted and grown all over Pantala, and even helped along by leaf speakers. Hence, the main areas of Pantala have healthy amounts of trees and such. This has resulted in cleaner air and more possible living options for all the tribes alike.
- The Poison Jungle in Eastern Pantala is not largely inhabited due to the necessity not being there anymore, but some still to live there by their own choice. Thankfully, there is no longer any Breath of Evil in the Jungle, so it is completely safe from that. Essentially the only thing to be concerned about is the carnivorous and poisonous plants.
Conclusion...
Now that we’ve learned a bit about Pantala & it’s history, I leave you with a question: Which pantalan tribe is your favorite, and why?
