Did you know that SilkWings is one of the tribes that have their home in Pantala?
SilkWings don't hatch with wings, and their first 6 years they spend without any wings at all. When they turn six years old, they spin a cocoon (similar to butterflies) and five days later, they leave their cocoon with beautiful wings attached to their body. Their wings are similar to the ones that can be seen on just butterflies and they can have different patterns on them, however, their wings are just as strong as any other dragon tribe. Their scales look like sliced gems and their color is iridescent, which means that it shifts in the color of the rainbow. A Silkwing can be almost any color, except black, and their eye color can be of any color and they have a slim body. SilkWings are vegetarians, and they enjoy eating candy, like chocolate, but then again, who doesn't love chocolate?
Here at World of Jade Mountain, the SilkWings have different abilities depending on their age. From age 1 up to 13, they have the Silk Glands abilities, which means that they can produce silk from the glands on their wrist to create webs. Between the age of 14 - 16, they discover their Internal Clock, which means that they have an internal clock that alerts them to changes in weather. This internal clock may need time to adjust if the SilkWing travels a great distance. From the age of 17 and up to 20, the SilkWings can use their Antennas. With their Antennas, they can detect vibrations to assess threats. The last ability SilkWing has here at World of Jade Mountain is Butterfly communication. This is something they get at the age of 21. This ability makes it possible to communicate and talk with butterflies and able to request small gifts from them (such as nectar).
One ability that some SilkWings have is to produce flamesilk. However, this is a rare ability that not a lot of SilkWings have, and it's genetic, which means that it's passed down through generations. Here at World of Jade Mountain, FlameSilk is a Status that you can have. There are five different types of Flamesilk. The gold silk is a silk that shimmers in a golden color, it's very similar to regulate silk and it doesn't have any other effect. Firefly silk is a silk that casts light, just like the light from a firefly. Glow silk is a silk that is warm and glows, but it doesn't hurt. Blaze silk is a silk that can burn and it hurts dragons that aren't flamesilk. The last FlameSilk is the Sun Silk. This one is more dangerous because it's very bright and it can even burn through stone. The only way to put out sun silk is by drowning it in water.
