MudWings

Today's SEO blog is about the MudWings, their abilities, and how it is living in the Mud Kingdom.

What was their history like?

The MudWings allied with Burn and the SkyWings in the War of SandWing Succession, fighting against Blister and Blaze. Originally, they were allied with Blister and the SeaWings, but that changed after the assassination of Commander Tempest. Burn forced the MudWings into an alliance through threats and offered them a hundred years of peace between their tribes and protection if she became queen of the SandWings.

Description

MudWings have thick, armored scales in earthy colors like browns, ambers, and oranges. They are known for their flat snouts, strength, and big size. They have gold or amber under scales, nostrils on the tops of their snouts, and thick, curved horns. Their eyes come in brown, gold, amber, and hazel. MudWings are muscular and strong, resembling crocodiles. They are typically larger and stronger than dragons of other tribes and may have odd markings like spotted scales. The Mudwings have also been stereotypically called dumb by other dragons from other tribes many times.

What abilities do Mudwings have?

MudWings can hold their breath for up to an hour and breathe fire if warm enough. They are strong, can camouflage into mud and dirt, and can use mud to ease pain and treat wounds. MudWings hatched from blood-red eggs are immune to fire. This ability fully activates after exposure to mud and can also activate while the dragonet is still in the egg. Although fire can still hurt them, their injuries caused by fire heal quickly. However, deep or large burns cannot fully heal. Fireproof MudWings may also survive in lava for short periods. When burned, their scales temporarily fade to black before returning to their normal color. In ancient times, blood-red eggs were destroyed before hatching, but this changed when a fireproof dragonet was discovered.

What is living in the Mud Kingdom like?

Less wealthy and lowborn MudWings live on the outskirts of MudWing territory near the Diamond Spray Delta, while others live closer to the kingdom's center. MudWing hatchlings grow up near villages and learn the dragon language by attending schools, and royal MudWings born in the palace are named shortly after hatching and quickly undergo education and training. MudWings live in large mud bunkhouses and tend to nap in mud puddles. They have not been as ambitious as other tribes.

MudWings don't have formal pairings and breed once a month. Neither parent raises their children, and the partners and children usually don't know each other. The eggs are laid in well-protected bunkhouses and left mostly alone until hatching, with no adults present. The first MudWing dragonet to hatch is often the largest and known as a bigwings, and they help their siblings hatch. They work well as soldiers and protect each other. When a sibling is lost, the group may take in orphaned dragons known as "unsibs," who may form their group.

What types of names can they have?

MudWing names are often inspired by earthy elements like swamps, flora, and fauna found in environments like Reed, Crane, or Sora. They can also be based on shades of brown, minerals like diamonds, or synonyms for swamps such as Umber, Asha, and Bog.

What Do You Think?

  • Would you want to be a Mudwing?
  • If you were a Mudwing, would you want to be a Bigwings? Or is it too much responsibility during the war?
  • Which Mudwing character is the best, in your opinion?
