Blaze is a SandWing who the dragonets met in the Wing of Fire book, "The Hidden Kingdom." She was one of the three rival sisters who fought for the SandWing throne during the War of SandWing Succession and the only sister who survived the war at the end of "The Brightest Night." Blaze is often described as soft, spacey, energetic, silly, and unintelligent. She tends to care more about her safety and keeping her scales polished than others' safety. Blaze dislikes dragons whom she considers too pretty, as they could be compared to her. She is confident about her dazzling charm and persuasion skills. Her focus on treasure is so strong that most of her thoughts are committed to it. Blaze is most known within Pyrrhia as being the most self-absorbed and naive among the three sisters. She lives in the SandWing stronghold and is happily neutral with the SandWing kingdom's royal matters. Blaze has shining light gold scales, a long neck, and black eyes identical to her sisters.
After her mother died, Blaze was drawn into a conflict with her two older sisters, and the three of them started a war over the SandWing throne, involving almost all of Pyrrhia. Blaze had the support of most of the SandWing tribe and had allied herself with Queen Glacier of the IceWings. If Blaze won, she promised the IceWings a piece of SandWing territory close to the IceWing border. At the beginning of the Wings of Fire book, The Hidden Kingdom, Blaze was first introduced when Glory and Jambu disguised themselves as IceWings to enter her fortress. They persuaded her to come out to meet the rest of the Dragonets of Destiny. While she was outside, Deathbringer attempted to assassinate her but failed. Blaze assumed Queen Glacier would back her up in fights. She also claimed that she would be such a great queen that no one would even want to challenge her. Blaze was confident enough to tell the dragonets that if they said she was queen, she would give each of the dragonets their palace in the Kingdom of Sand.
Another time we see Blaze is in the WoF book, The Brightest Night. The dragonets invited Blaze to come to the SandWing stronghold using a dreamvisitor so they could peacefully choose a queen. The dragonets added that if Blaze was not there, she would lose her chance of becoming queen. Blaze eventually arrived with Queen Glacier and watched as Burn was attacked by a dragonbite viper. Sunny described that when the viper attacked, all the dragons were screaming. Blaze's scream was the loudest. When Blister came to fight Blaze, she pleaded with Queen Glacier, asking her to fight for her. Glacier sadly refused Blaze's question, and Blister then attacked Blaze. While they were fighting, Sunny found the Eye of Onyx and gave it to Thorn. Blister tried to take it, but the Eye turned her into dust, which left Blaze as the surviving sister. Blaze bowed to Queen Thorn, accepting her as the new SandWing queen.
