Fatespeaker is a female Nightwing who we first meet in the Wings of Fire book, the Hidden Kingdom. She is very similar to Sunny, one of the Dragonets of Destiny. When Sunny and Fatespeaker meet, they start talking like they have been friends for their entire lives. Fatespeaker and Sunny are both very happy and cheerful. They are optimists. She was taken from the Night Kingdom when she was born to become a part of the replacement Dragonets of Destiny. Fatespeaker meets Starflight in the WoF book, The Dark Secret. The two Nightwings stick together for most of the adventure, and Fatespeaker gains some romantic feelings for Starflight.
When Starflight's eyes got burned, and Sunny was kidnapped, Fatespeaker took care of him. Fatespeaker is very positive and happy. She talks a lot and prefers friendship rather than fighting. She has dark scales with an underbelly of blue and violet. Fatespeaker also has silver teardrop scales at each corner of her eyes and around her wrist.
Fatespeaker claims she can feel weak emotions from other dragons, and may also have a small ability to look into the future. Her powers are not as strong as Moonwatchers mainly because Fatespeaker was not born under the stars like she was. She was born in the Night Kingdom by the volcano but there were some moons present above the smoke in the sky. Moonwatcher was born in the Rain Kingdom where there was no smoke, which is part of the reason why her powers are stronger.
Darkstalker thought that if she had any powers, then they were very very weak, or that she may have been supposed to have powers, but did not get them because she did not hatch under the moons or was nearly supposed to hatch under the moons.
In the Wings of Fire book, The Dark Secret, Fatespeaker meets Starflight, and the two Nightwings stick together for most of the book. On the island, Fatespeaker was Starflights only friend. During their time together, Fatespeaker develops romantic feelings for Starflight. Fatespeaker was the only dragon on the Nightwing Island that Startflight felt like he could trust, and Fatespeaker felt the same way about Starflight. Starflight has Fatespeakers back when she is fighting Viper and Flame. He jumps into the fight to make it fair even though he didn’t have to do that.
When Starflight's eyes are burned, and Sunny is kidnapped, Fatespeaker takes care of Starflight. When Sunny gets back, the three dragons determine that Fatespeaker is better for Starflight than Sunny is. Sunny only thinks of Starflight as a brother. Fatespeaker works at Jade Mountain Academy with Starflight and his friends now as an assistant librarian.
