Icicle is an IceWing and is part of the royal family. She has white scales and pale blue eyes. She is relatively large and has a high-pitched voice. She has appeared in two books: Moon Rising and Winter Turning. Icicle is currently a prisoner of the IceWing palace. When she lived in the Ice Kingdom, she would dive into the ocean multiple times a day to clean her scales and appear more pristine. She is stubborn and dangerous but not necessarily evil.
Winter is not Icicle’s favorite dragon. She thinks he is useless and weak. In spite of this, Winter still seems to want to have a connection with her. They were always together at Jade Mountain Academy, and even after Icicle works with Queen Scarlet and tries to kill the Dragonets of Destiny, he believes she is a good dragon, only trying to save her other brother, Hailstorm. It was only when he found out that she killed an innocent NightWing that his trust began to falter.
In the prologue of Winter Turning, Icicle’s brother, Hailstorm, is captured by the SkyWing army. Icicle believed the NightWings killed him in Queen Scarlet’s arena until she was contacted by Scarlet using a dreamvisitor. Scarlet told Icicle that Hailstorm was still alive and that she would release him if Icicle killed the Dragonets of Destiny. In Moon Rising, Moonwatcher overhears Queen Scarlet dreamvisiting Icicle, but she doesn’t know who is talking to Scarlet.
Later, Icicle tries to kill Starflight but is stopped by Moon, Qibli, and Winter. She tells Winter that Hailstorm is still alive and that she is trying to save him. Winter argued that she shouldn’t work with Scarlet, who imprisoned Hailstorm in the first place. After this, she fled to the Rainforest Kingdom to kill Queen Glory. The Jade Winglet found her on the NightWing’s volcanic island. She was covered in blood and dirt, and her eyes were bloodshot. She had not slept in days, burning herself by laying next to the lava when she got tired. She didn’t want to admit to Queen Scarlet that she failed. Icicle tells Winter that the only way to save Hailstorm is to kill Queen Glory, which angers Kinkajou, who then attacks Icicle. The IceWing is promptly tranquilized and arrested for murder and attempted murder by the RainWings. Her punishment was left for Queen Glacier to decide.
During the War of SandWing succession, Icicle killed a MudWing named Crane. When she went to Jade Mountain Academy, Crane’s sister tried to kill her twice to avenge Crane. First, she set off a dragonflame cactus explosion in the history cave, accidentally killing a SkyWIng named Carnelian and a NightWing named Bigtail and injuring Tamarin, a RainWing. Her second attempt occurred in the prey center, where she trapped a large stalactite to fall on Icicle. She realized that someone was trying to kill her and figured out that it was Sora.
