Sora and her siblings fought in the War of SandWing Succession. We don’t know when they joined the army or if it was even voluntary, but the war had a lasting impact on Sora’s mind. During an IceWing ambush, her sister, Crane was killed, and was the only casualty to come from their family. As far as we can tell, Sora was the most greatly affected sib and she would later seek vengeance against the IceWing who killed her sister. She used to talk more before Crane’s death. In one of the last years of the war, Sora would meet her brother, Clay, who had been given away before they had hatched. Sora wanted Clay to stay with them and later expressed that she was confident that he would fulfill the prophecy and end the war soon

Following the conclusion of the War of SandWing Succession, the Dragonets of Destiny founded Jade Mountain Academy, which you should be quite familiar with. Sora appears and plays a big role in book six, Moon Rising. She is shown to be shy and reclusive, often keeping to herself and reading in the library. She was in the Gold Winglet. Both Moonwatcher and Darkstalker described her mind as unstable and she had a calming ritual where she imagined mud covering her and all her worries and bad thoughts. Partway through the book, a bomb is detonated in the history cave and two dragons, Carnealian and Bigtail, are killed, along with Tamarin, who is injured. It is later revealed that it was Sora who set the bomb in an attempt to kill Icicle, who was planning on being early to class. Despite the unexpected casualties, Sora tries again to kill Icicle by rigging a stalactite to drop on her. When she is confronted by Moon and Qibli, she seems remorseful, and is found crying over Tamarin, who is unconscious. She didn’t mean to kill anyone other than Icicle.

The Hybrid Prince takes place immediately after Moon Rising, where Sora and her brother, Umber are running away from Jade Mountain Academy. Sora’s immediate instinct is to go to their other siblings, Reed and Pheasant, but Umber knows that they will be arrested if they do, because they work for the queen. Instead, they decide to go south and find an island to live on. Sora appears to be acting strange, even talking to a monkey on one of the islands. Eventually, the two reach the Court of Refuge, where Sora starts to feel at home, befriending a WildWing named Quokka and a MudWing named Dugong. She also started really connecting with the songs written by a hybrid IceWing-SkyWing singer named Aurora. She seems to be settling into her new home and feeling more comfortable as herself.
