= Edition 2 =

Remember last time we had this Blogpost? Last time I interviewed Lila Everfall from the Scroll managers. Today however, we’re having a sit down with one of the amazing Hall-monitors who make sure that people are in their dorms after curfew and enforce the rules inside the Academy. This person has been an amazing, welcoming and positive human being and has helped loads of new people as well. I’m sure everyone’s seen her around the academy at least once or twice and if you’ve seen her more often you’re either friends… or got into trouble. The Hall-Monitors are led by Elvire Debrosse, she’s making sure they do their jobs but what is she like as a boss? That and more in our interview with none other then Sophie Alberg!

Our Interview

Beau: Hi there Sophie, thank you for joining me today for a little sit down. Are you excited?
Sophie: Yes I am very excited! In fact I might be even a little nervous! There’s so much to go through!

Beau: So, you’re a hall-monitor. I know you’re monitoring the halls and such but what exactly does your job entail and what does it mean to you? Do you spend a lot of time reprimanding young scavengers?
Sophie: Well, my job helps to make sure that users all over the site follow the topic and chat rules as well as help users whenever I can. Being a Hall Monitor means to me that you have to be compassionable, kind, patient, and even sometimes strict. It’s an amazing experience and I’ll be sure to stick to it for a long time. I wouldn’t say that I reprimand young scavengers, I just simply nudge them in the right direction.

Beau: That doesn’t sound too bad. Do you have a daily routine or schedule you keep to for your job?
Sophie: Well, we record the topics that we’ve looked at and sometimes contact each other about certain topics one on one. I maintain a spreadsheet to help myself stay organized. Every Sunday we report to Elvire

Beau: So you spend a lot of time on it I reckon. Your boss, Elvire. What is she like as a boss? Is she as kind as people say she is?
Sophie: Elvire is a very sweet and fun person. She is very enthusiastic about her job and she definitely looks out for everyone. Elvire is kind, no doubt about that. Elvire is an amazingly awesome person in general and she is gorgeous inside and out.

Beau: No kidding! That’s pretty great. How’s the rest of the Hall monitor team? Can you all work well together or are you more of a solo-player?
Sophie: The rest of the Hall Monitor team is awesome! We talk to each other and have fun. Most of the time we work solo but sometimes we work together. If we all did work together, there would definitely be much more chaos on the site and a few pranks here and there.

Beau: Can you tell me what you’d like to see change at the academy? Could be anything from people engaging with each other and making friends to people just behaving to give you all some breathing room.
Sophie: Well, I would absolutely like to see users following the rules more. Engagement is definitely something I would like to encourage just as long as it follows site rules! Making friends is awesome and kudos to those who follow the rules! Keep up the amazing job!

Beau: Seems legit enough. And last but not least, what does a day in the life of Sophie Alberg look like?
Sophie: Hmm... this one’s a toughie. I would say a day in the life of Sophie Alberg would look like getting up with bedhead, eating breakfast at ten in the morning, getting dressed and then spending some time with all of you awesome people! If you really want more details then I will gladly add some more on. She then eats lunch yada yada yada all the normal stuff and then goes to bed after having had a spectacular time with all of her friends and doing some site work. The end!

So here you have it folks. A little insight in the life of Sophie Alberg, her job as Hall-monitor and what she thinks of Elvire. Of course, we all love the graduates of the Academy and appreciate everything they do, this includes the students that help them make sure everything runs smoothly. Next week we’ll have a sit down with someone from the Plot team! Wonder who it is? Tune in next time for another edition of Student Staff Spotlight!
